Jeunesse, agroécologie et emplois verts pour la paix en Haïti

The main aim of this joint UNEP/ILO project is to maintain peace and reduce conflict, insecurity and migration among young people by capitalizing on the environment as a vector for dialogue and socio-economic stabilization and development in the country's most difficult departments, including Grand'Anse. More specifically, it aims to create conditions conducive to the stabilization and social emancipation of young people in rural and urban areas, through community environmental planning, agro-ecological land development and support for the resulting value chains, the creation of green jobs and the diversification of sources of income, and diversification of income sources, thereby improving their resilience in the face of climatic hazards. The project addresses one of the main research axes of the Climate Security Study, namely the increased vulnerability of young people, and implements at least two of the Study's recommendations concerning nature-based solutions and community empowerment.
