The purpose of this project is to build on the progress and achievements made during the previous UNV-ILO partnership (2017-2022) and to advance the measurement of volunteer work. The following key activities are included: * Development of an updated and standardized methodology for the calculation of global estimates on volunteer work * Provide technical support to UNV-led data collection on volunteer work in selected countries * Calculation of global estimates on volunteer work for the next State of the World’s Volunteerism Report (SWVR) and preparation of a chapter on global estimates for the SWVR * Identify strategic partner countries to implement the volunteer work module as part of or separate to national labour force surveys (LFS) or other household surveys, and provide technical support to countries looking to apply the volunteer work module * Organize regional workshops for Member States/National Statistical Offices to raise awareness and promote the use of volunteer work measurement tools, and to share lessons learned and guidance * Develop a set of questions to detect informal/formal volunteer work activities and include them into the existing LFS add-on module * Prepare three knowledge products/policy briefs on the topics of 1) Unpaid care work and volunteering; 2) Volunteering and active ageing; 3) Digital volunteering and youth
