This intervention aligns with Pakistan’s economic development objectives and the vision set out in the National SME Policy 2021. It aims to promote an enabling environment for enterprise formalization and building capacities, evidence base advocacy strategies and awareness for the formalization of small and medium enterprises in Pakistan. The intervention targets informal small and medium enterprises and home-based workers in textile and automotive supply chains in Karachi in Sindh and Lahore in Punjab. It is implemented in partnership with Pakistan’s Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority, the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan, associations of textiles and automotives enterprises, Pakistan Workers Federation and sector-specific workers’ organizations.
