Trade and investment arrangements: Implementation and stakeholder engagement for promoting decent work
The project contributes to the improvement of international trade that is more inclusive and beneficial for all, including marginalized workers and small and medium enterprises. This is accomplished through knowledge development and dissemination activities that examine the quantitative and qualitative effects of trade policies on labour markets using the ILO’s decent work indicators. Particular attention is paid to labour provisions in trade agreements, with the goal of highlighting best practices and lessons learned from their implementation in various settings. Furthermore, the project engages with policymakers and social partners on trade and labour issues through regional and country level dialogue and cooperative activities that focus on opportunities and challenges of trade for the labour market.
