Fostering the transition to Formality of Informal workers and economic units in Mongolia - II
This intervention aims to intensify efforts towards advancing formalization in Mongolia through an integrated action plan, including by piloting and implementing digital and administrative solutions, upscaling employment services, and strengthening protection of workers. The intervention targets ILO constituents in sectors with the highest number of migrant workers- such as construction, transportation and services. The intervention will benefit approximately 10,000 workers, notably 4,000 workers in wholesale and retail trade, 3,000 in services, 2,000 in taxi services, and around 1,000 in construction. The intervention is implemented in partnership with ILO constituents, the General Agency for Labour and Welfare and its branches in Erdenet and Darkhan-Uul, the General Agency for Social Insurance, the Taxation Office, the World Bank, and other development partners supporting the Dzud recovery plan. Expected results include the introduction and implementation of digital and administrative solutions for e-formalization, upscaled employment promotion programmes and services to facilitate formalization, and enhanced capacities of workers’ organizations towards formalization in Mongolia.
