PROGRAMME DE PROMOTION DU DIALOGUE SOCIAL EN AFRIQUE FRANCOPHONE-PHASE II

The primary objective of the PRODIAF programme consists of assisting French-speaking African countries to strengthen tripartite cooperation structures at national and subregional levels and enable governments and social partners to evaluate their social dialogue and tripartite cooperation systems and analyse together improvements, changes and reinforcements, where necessary, in the development of social policies. PRODIAF has also been working on conflict resolution through the promotion of social dialogue in French-speaking Africa since 1998. Specific activities aiming to reinforce the capacities of the social partners to engage in social dialogue were implemented in 22 countries. Social dialogue structures were set up in many countries, as well as subregional institutions in West Africa (UEMOA), in Central Africa (CEMAC) and particularly in the countries of the Great Lakes, after the war.
