2004 Contribution to APSDEP

The main objectives of APSDEP Project year 2004-05 were to retain employability of people, strengthen income generation and vocational training as an instrument, and to promote and assist in the development of vocational and technical training in the Asia and Pacific region. Main activities: ILO/APSDEP/Korea Training Course on Computer-Aided Instruction; Training Course on New Training Technologies; Experts Meeting on Skills Development for Economic Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation, using the Community-Based Training Methodology; Vocational Training Institution: A Management Handbook - Follow-up Programme (developing an instructional material for managing vocational training institutions; and Consultation Meeting on the draft instructional material); Website Development; Launching the UNESCO and the ILO joint initiative on reviews of national learning and skills policies; and Skills Development for the vulnerable groups using thecCommunity-based training.
