An Integrated Approach to Promoting Good Governance

The project is focused on strengthening labour administration (in particular, the capacities of the Ministry of Labour) in Palestine and in other countries in the Arab States region, notably Jordan, through an integrated approach to promoting good governance. Initial project activities (2005) involved a sharing of international experiences on best practices in labour administration and a general assessment of labour administration needs in Ramallah, including with the involvement of peak workers’ and employers’ organizations.. These activities were directed towards presenting a report, identifying key issues and priorities, to a national workshop involving high-level Ministry officials, who would then prepare a 2006-07 plan of action for implementation.
