Direct assistance that is most effective includes: a) grants to poor families and students for education related expenses; b) remedial education for at risk students; c) teacher training on active, creative, effective and enjoyable methods; d) training on life-skills, child rights and the risks of child labour; and e) combined elementary and junior high in one roof schools in remote areas.
