description:
Sound efforts of identifying and targeting of the most significant need/s of the beneficiaries – Livelihoods -- have brought about positive results of successful outreach of the beneficiaries who required the livelihood support most.
context:
The selection process of beneficiaries of SURAR’s livelihood support is being carried out in a meticulous manner with many levels of validation and consultations with different stakeholders. The project made an innovation of setting up a committee consisting of the President, and Secretary of the Coop, Manager, and ILO to identify the most vulnerable members of the resettled community, with priority being given to PwDs, FHH, and elderly persons. The selected vulnerable people were provided with extra support to carry out the livelihood activities, as well as address/overcome any constraints that prevent them from engaging in such activities.
success:
The success was the assurance of ‘leave no one behind’ principle ILO followed as per SDG framework. Setting up a dedicated mechanism (the committee) and the meticulous search for the most needy persons was the causal connection.
