recommendations:
title:
It should be ensured that both the legal framework for the arbitration and sustainable financing of the arbitrators’ work is in place, before investment in training is agreed.

action_plan:
ILO is exploring the best way to establish favourable legal environment for arbitration including through establishment of independent “Arbitration Cell”.
comments:
The Bangladesh Labour Act provides basis for arbitration. Establishing an independent arbitration cell is not under the preview of Bangladesh Labour Act. ILO will continue to discuss with the stakeholders if this can be done under separate Statutory Regulatory Ordinance (SRO). Discussions will also be undertaken with government on the funding of arbitration services.
