The Office appointed Gender focal point in the office and the person has been very active in advocating for gender consideration and balance in Office activities, including the advocacy for the ratification of the ILO related conventions; such as domestic works.
comments:
Gender issues in Myanmar continues to be a big issue, and draws everyone attention to discuss and plan how to move away from serious discrimination based on gender issues. The ILO for example is very mindful on gender when come to the labour law reform, as the law would take effect to the whole society and influence changes in patterns of practice.
