Established a sales centre under the partnership of John Keells (PVT) Ltd; to purchase fruits and vegetables. Under the Chamber of Commerce Jaffna partnership, the project conducted networking meetings with banana farmers, cooperative, DoCD and John Keells company to agree on the way forward.

comments:

The established sales centre is a collaborative venture of cooperative (PAPSCS ) and John Keells in the Jaffna district. While cooperative mobilize framers for quality banana production, John Keells will continue purchasing at a reasonable price without not limiting to the targeted farmers. DoCD will monitor periodically established mechanisms with closer consultation of the cooperative and private company. If any concerns are raised, DoCD will solve and closely work with the Chamber of Commerce to find alternative markets.
