- recommendations:
- title:
- 11. The Pakistan Country Office should consider the strategic priorities for continuing to address child labour, building on ARC Project experience. This may include:
a) Continued partnership with UNICEF to support policy and programme development on child labour arising from the child labour surveys that remain to be completed.
b) At the legislative level, identify the national and province/territory laws that continue to require amendment to align with international standards on child labour, and continue advocacy with decision-makers to introduce laws against child domestic labour in provinces and territories.
c) Conducting a stocktake of the child labour monitoring and referral mechanisms piloted by the ARC project, as well as other potential mechanisms such as the district vigilance committees, and identify the optimal strategies for scale up, recognising that different systems may be required in different provinces/territories.

- action_plan:
- Continue to work with UNICEF on the conduct of labour force surveys, including the follow-up actions. With support from similar projects in ILO Islamabad such as Rise for Impact, continue work at the legislative level and doing local-level monitoring systems.
- comments:
- The recommendatiosn are being acted on but still ongoing in Pakistan. The collaboration with UNICEF is still active especially that other provinces are doing their child labour surveys. The Rise for Impact project is working with the Punjab government for a capacity-building program using findings from the surveys. On the legislative front, the updating of labour codes in Punjab and Sindh are taking into account child labour standards. At the local level, RBTC funds and other ILO projects are being used to strengthen the work of Vigilance Committees to also address child labour.
